For those who were at our Autumn Swinging Ball, a few dancers demonstrated this stroll and it sparked a lot of interest. So we’re bringing this stroll to you over 2 x 45-minute sessions.
These sessions are taking place before the Xmas Swinging Ball, so you can learn at our workshops and join in at the next social dance!
Please note that the routine is commonly danced to “Hello Dolly” by Bobby Darin, but we’re using a different song on our video demo to avoid any music rights issues.
The Hello Dolly stroll was choreographed by Lorraine Kurtela (US).

Want to learn all those fun strolls you see at the social dances? This one-off 1-hour lesson is for you!
Everybody is welcome regardless of experience or ability, and guess what... no partners are required! Our teachers will be working through at a pace to suit the class and they should cover several of the strolls that everybody needs to know.
The Rock'n'Roll Stroll (Revival Day), the Charleston Stroll (King of the Swingers) and the New York Stroll (Candyman) with more if we can fit them in! The strolls can be seen on the following links...

11-25th October - "ooh aah" Charleston Stroll
(Put A Lid On It). Get lively with this perfectly adorable 1920s style Charleston routine. That is to say, it features lots of classic moves from the Charleston era. Choreographed by globally renowned dancer Sing Lim from Singapore, her routine is the most fun. Consequently, our demonstration of this routine is one of our top youtube videos with over 27,000 views!
1 -15 Nov - The Shim Sham
(Tain't What You Do / Tuxedo Junction). Originating from the original swing era, this routine was danced by all the jazz and lindy hop greats. Therefore it has become the best-known jazz routine globally. In short, it's an all-time classic!
22 Nov - 6 Dec - The Jitterbug Stroll
This routine was choreographed by world-famous UK swing dancer Ryan Francois for the legendary Jitterbugs Club in London. This is one of our favourites!
