Health & Safety;
Our lessons are designed as low risk activities, there is minimal risk of injury as a result of attempting any moves taught by The Swing Dance Company’s instructors. They will provide breaks for re-hydration at reasonable intervals during longer session.
Potential risks could occur as a result of conditions in the setting, these are deemed the responsibility of the organiser. These may include;
- insufficient space leading to collisions between dancers
- unsafe dance floor surface;
- too slippy (eg wet, overpolished) leading to slips and falls
- not slippy enough (eg carpet, outdoor) leading to sore or twisted joints
- uneven surface leading to trips and falls
For locations arranged by the customer, our staff will offer advice on how to minimise risks when a potential risk is identified. However, The Swing Dance Company, nor its staff, accept responsibility in the event of an accident or injury. They reserve the right to withhold services if an environment is deemed unsafe.
What To Wear
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and flat-soled, non-marking shoes for most classes. We strictly do not allow stilettos or any other footwear that can damage floors when using premises that we are responsible for.
