Join us for our first ever summer Class & Dance evening at Farnborough Royal British Legion this lovely social venue with parking and a bar! This session will feature one 30-minute classes at the start of the evening with participation optional, along with dancing to swinging tunes until 9.30pm. Spaces need to be pre-booked, guests can arrive on their own or with a partner. This evening is the perfect opportunity to keep practing during the summer break. Everyone is welcome, but the evening would suit most people who have danced before and wants a good fun evening out.
WHAT HAPPENS?
At the start of the evening, there is an initial fun SwingJive class at roughly Intermediate level. Our team will play your favourite tunes for freestyle practice before another class begins later. After that, you can dance the night away until the last track finishes at 9.30pm. Our friendly team will be on hand too, in case you need help with any moves, or just fancy a dance!
WHO CAN COME?
This evening is aimed at those who have been on recent courses or who wish to resume social dancing.

Join us for a fantastic evening of fun swing dance classes and social dancing at our Farnham venue on Thursday, 26th June 2025! Get ready for a lively night from 7.15pm to 9.20pm.
Event Details:
This special social evening features two enjoyable 30-minute swing dance lessons (participation optional) woven into an evening of dancing to a swinging playlist curated by our team. Booking in advance is essential. Spaces can be booked individually (limited number available) or with a partner. During the lessons, you’re welcome to remain with your booked partner or choose to rotate and dance with others – the choice is yours! This evening is the perfect opportunity to practice your moves, socialise, and simply have a great time on the dance floor. It’s ideal for those who have been participating in recent courses, anyone wanting to get back into dancing, or experienced beginners looking for a fun night out.
What Happens?
The fun starts right away!
- 7.15pm: Doors open & the first 30-minute fun swing lesson begins. The lessons are designed to be engaging and suitable for those who’ve danced for at least a term or two, ensuring maximum enjoyment.
- 7.45pm – 8.15pm: Freestyle dancing! Practice what you’ve learned or just enjoy moving to our swinging playlist.
- 8.15pm – 8.45pm: Time for the second 30-minute fun lesson, adding more moves to your repertoire.
- 8.45pm – 9.30pm: More freestyle dancing! Our friendly team will be playing great tunes and will be on hand if you need help with any steps or just fancy a dance. The evening concludes at 9.30pm.

This evening is primarily aimed at dancers who have recently attended our courses or anyone with previous swing dance experience (e.g., comfortable with fundamental steps) looking for a relaxed social dance environment.

WHAT HAPPENS?
At the start of each evening, there is a beginner SwingJive class, which you can join whatever your level.
Our team then plays your favourite tunes for freestyle practice, before a more challenging class begins at 9pm. After that, you can dance the night away until the last track finishes at 10.15pm. Our friendly coaches will be on hand too, in case you need help with any moves, or just fancy a dance!

The evening's schedules are below, but feel free to come and go as you please.

We are absolutely delighted to welcome the incredible Fifinellas Swing Band! For this special night, they’re bringing their full, spectacular 8-piece band, featuring three amazing vocalists, tenor sax, piano, guitar, bass, and drums.
If the name is new to you, you’ll definitely know the musicians! The band is made up of talented performers from The Midnight Shift, and The Regular Joes. Vocalists Louise and George have also sung with the wonderful Miss Annie for over 25 years. This is a lineup packed with faces and voices you’ll know and love!
