VE Day 80th Anniversary at D-Day Story
Get ready to put a swing in your step and celebrate history in style! The Swing Dance Company is absolutely thrilled to announce we'll be part of the special VE Day 80th Anniversary celebrations hosted by the fantastic The D-Day Story museum in Southsea, Portsmouth on Sunday, 11th May.
Join us for a fun-filled, beginner-friendly 'Learn to Lindy Hop' taster session! If you've ever wanted to try swing dancing, this is the perfect opportunity. Lindy Hop is a joyful dance straight from the swing era, and we specialise in making it easy and enjoyable for absolute beginners. Come along, soak up the unique atmosphere, meet new people, and discover the fun of swing dance – no partner or experience necessary!
Our taster session is included with the standard museum admission price, making it part of a wonderful day out. Besides dancing, The D-Day Story has a whole host of activities planned, including craft making, live 1940s music from Nathalie Gunn, and the chance to see their historic D-Day Jeep up close.
It's set to be a memorable day commemorating an important moment in history, filled with music, learning, and community spirit. We can't wait to share some smiles and simple steps with you!
