On Sat 10th Feb 2018, Greggi G & His Crazy Gang join The Swing Dance Company for our next major event. Featuring a talented band with a huge repertoire, Greggi G and His Crazy Gang have been performing for dancers for many years. With a rock-steady beat they are always a big hit with jive and swing dancers, playing 1950s classics that you’ll love to dance to.
Boasting a fine rockin’ pedigree Greggi G was once a member of chart-topping rockabilly band Matchbox, whilst The Crazy Gang have worked with huge names from Fats Domino to The Comets and Jerry Lee Lewis, plus many more besides. The group have played all over Europe and made numerous TV appearances.
Greggi G and His Crazy Gang are returning to play for the The Swing Dance Company at Portsmouth’s Admiral Lord Nelson School following several hugely popular events. Holding hundreds of dancers, there have been dozens of other memorable nights featuring the biggest bands for dancers over the last 15 years. Si Cranstoun, The Jive Aces, Mike Sanchez, Swing Commanders and King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys are just a few of the big names to have played the venue.
This Valentine Swinging Ball is open to all, you’ll feel the love whether you come on your own, with a partner or with friends. For 15 years our celebrated Swinging Balls have been running at Admiral Lord Nelson School . They have built a splendid reputation, attracting the UK’s finest jive and swing bands along with huge attendances.

More Than Just a Live Band Event
The Valentine Swinging Ball is more than just a live band event though. Our team save their creative best for these occasions, with memorable decorations, themed treats and fun surprises.
Guests are invited to dress appropriately for either Valentines or 1950s theme. Our team will be busy dressing the venue especially for the night, so bring your red roses and plenty of love!
The venue offers a spacious dance floor, ample seating and tables plus an inexpensive fully licensed in-house bar operated by our own friendly dancers. The evening is perfect for you whether you prefer to dance non-stop or just kick back, socialise and enjoy the live music and entertainments. Being just a few minutes away from the A27/M27 near the Eastern Road in Portsmouth, the venue is easy to reach from far and wide – we always attract dancers from all over the South! The venue has a large car park.
The band will be supported by swinging DJs and a warm-up lesson. The DJ team will play a great mix of swing, rock’n’roll and rhythm and blues tracks.
