Si Cranstoun and his band are warmly welcomed back to The Swing Dance Company’s Autumn Swinging Ball in Portsmouth on Sat 12th Oct 2019 having performed sell-out shows for us on the same weekend for the last 2 years.
In you haven’t been fortunate enough to see him live before, you may have seen Si Cranstoun being interviewed on TV, headlining festivals and enjoying mainstream Radio 2 airplay with his debut single “Caught In The Moonlight” and other popular hits such as “Dynamo”. Exciting!
One of the biggest stars on the scene, Si Cranstoun secured a million pound record deal with Warner as this Daily Mail article reports;
Incredibly popular on his four previous engagements with The Swing Dance Company at the same Portsmouth venue in 2011, 2015, 2017 and 2018. Si Cranstoun is our most eagerly anticipated performer this year.
Other big name performers such as The Jive Aces, King Pleasure and The Biscuit Boys, The Regular Joes, Big Boy Bloater, Mike Sanchez and The Swing Commanders have graced the stage for The Swing Dance Company at Admiral Lord Nelson School, but arguably Si Cranstoun delivered the best show in Swing Dance Company history last year.
The venue offers a spacious dance floor, ample seating and tables plus an inexpensive fully licensed in-house bar operated by our own friendly dancers. The evening is perfect for you whether you prefer to dance non-stop or just kick back, socialise and enjoy the live music and entertainments. Being just a few minutes away from the A27/M27 near the Eastern Road in Portsmouth, the venue is easy to reach from far and wide – we always attract dancers from all over the South! The venue has a large car park.

A fantastic community facility that is ideal for dance classes and dancing, Admiral Lord Nelson School offers us a huge, versatile space that has hosted our biggest live music events along with classes and workshops.
The school hall and gym are separated by a soundproof, moveable partition allowing us to run simultaneous classes on weekday evenings. The space is opened up for our Saturday night special events to host 200-300 dancers.
