When To Join Advanced SwingJive Courses
The Advance SwingJive level is ideal if you have been dancing with us for 6 or more terms. This should mean you have completed all THREE 10-week Inters Plus SwingJive courses, “Orange”, “Purple” and “Blue”.
The new Advanced level features 3 x 10 week courses containing the most challenging content on our regular courses. Each lesson features a 30 minute routine containing challenging steps that you can link to the moves you learned in previous lessons. The remainder of each session is dedicated to freestyle practice.
Just like the Inters Plus level, there are 3 terms with each containing different content. The 3 courses rotate during the year with Term 1 running in the Autumn, Term 2 starting every January and Term 3 starting after Easter.
Each new term of Advanced classes and dancing can be taken in any order.
What To Expect From The Advanced Class & Dance
Each Advanced SwingJive Course builds on what you have learned at the lower levels.
This level gives you new techniques. You will learn the Tandem Charleston, triple steps and the eight beat rhythm, learning how to apply these appropriately and integrate them with your existing dancing.
We’re always referring back to moves you have already learned so you’ll never forget them. Every time we show you a new move we will draw on moves that you already know to create new sequences. This course shows you how to extend those old moves. It challenges you to think about linking moves in ways you haven’t done before.
The format will see a 30 minute routine at the start of the session followed by a 30 minute freestyle practice time. We still maintain the popular feature of repeating the core move from the previous week.
