We'll be playing all the popular tunes from our classes so you can practice all you have learned.

Ready to add some solo sizzle to your swing? Join our fantastic team, for a super fun workshop learning the iconic Charleston Stroll choreographed by Sing Lim to the infectious "Put A Lid On It" by the Squirrel Nut Zippers!
What To Expect In This Workshop?
- What: Charleston Stroll Workshop (Solo Jazz - No Partner Required!)
- Routine: Sing Lim's Charleston Stroll
- Music: "Put A Lid On It" by Squirrel Nut Zippers
- When: Thursday, 9th December
- Time: 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM
- Where: Fareham Social Club
- Level: Suitable for anyone comfortable with basic Charleston steps, our expert teaching makes it accessible even if you're looking for a fun challenge!
The evening will be broken into tuition for approximately for 2 x 1 hour sections, with a nice break in the middle for you to refresh. There should be more time for social dancing at the end too!
This workshop is taking place before both the "Gatsby Themed Xmas Party" in Fareham the next week and the Xmas Swinging Ball on 20th December. We'll make sure you have a chance to practice this routine at both events!

Join us on Saturday 20th December 2025 for this year's Xmas Swinging Ball at Barton Hall Function Suite, Horndean. Featuring an amazing live band that is wonderful to dance to, this event will be the perfect way to kick off your Xmas holiday!

Swinging Balls are open to all, so you're sure to have a great night whether you come on your own, with a partner, or with friends. Our celebrated Swinging Balls have been running for 20 years. They have built a splendid reputation, attracting the UK's finest jive and swing bands along with huge attendances.

Laura B and Her Band are Coming Back!
Having performed at five previous Swing Dance Co Swinging Balls (all were sell-outs), we can look forward to this event with excitement and confidence that Laura B and Her Band will deliver a performance that is perfect for our dancers.
Laura B's powerhouse vocals have made her the UK's foremost authentic Rhythm & Blues vocalist and performer. She is backed by an all-star band of musicians that have previously played for some of the finest acts in the UK such as The Mike Sanchez Band, Blue Harlem and Sugar Ray's Flying Fortress.
Laura B and Her Band have played some amazing events such as London Royal Festival Hall, Twinwood Festival, Vintage at Goodwood Festival as well as numerous festivals across Europe.
Just 15 minutes north of our previous venue and similar in size and layout, Barton Hall is a dedicated function suite at Horndean Technology College, Horndean, just 5 minutes from the A3. There is ample parking on-site, a welcoming reception area, a huge dance floor and a licenced bar.
More Than Just a Live Band Event
Our Swinging Balls are more than just live band events, with memorable decorations, themed treats, and fun surprises.
A spacious dance floor, ample seating, and tables will be awaiting you in the main hall. Attendees are encouraged to use the fully licensed bar. The evening is perfect whether you prefer to dance non-stop or just kick back, socialise and enjoy the live music. The venue is easy to get to, attracting dancers from all over the South!
Warm-Up Lesson & Swinging DJ
Our teachers will be giving a warm-up lesson to start the evening off, suitable for all levels. The Swinging DJ team will play a great mix of swing, rock’n’roll and rhythm and blues tracks to keep the dance floor busy at all other times.
