Our Valentine Swinging Ball on Sat 9th Feb 2019 is The Swing Dance Company next major event, featuring UK’s No.1 jive and swing band The Jive Aces.

The most established band in our genre, The Jive Aces have become globe-trotting sensations and have wowed TV audience including Simon Cowell. Due to their popularity, every Jive Aces show for The Swing Dance Company, spanning over a decade, has sold out.

This Valentine Swinging Ball is open to all, you’ll feel the love whether you come on your own, with a partner or with friends. For over 15 years our celebrated Swinging Balls have been running at Admiral Lord Nelson School . They have built a splendid reputation, attracting the UK’s finest jive and swing bands along with huge attendances.

The Jive Aces Return

The Swing Dance Company last hosted The Jive Aces at their Valentine Swinging Ball 2017. The UK’s No.1 Jive and Swing band return to The Swing Dance Company for the first time since then. Previously they became “Britain’s Got Talent” semi-finalists and played prestigious venues including Buckingham Palace, The Royal Albert Hall and Hyde Park. Based in Sussex, the Jive Aces now spend much of their time touring the US and Europe so we are delighted to welcome them back.

Valentine Swinging Ball

The Jive Aces helped forge the reputation of our events in our early years. The adorable Aces performed at 3 consecutive Xmas Swinging Balls for the The Swing Dance Company in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Big name performers such as Mike Sanchez, Si Cranstoun, King Pleasure and The Biscuit Boys and The Regular Joes have graced our stage. We’re delighted that The Jive Aces were keen to return to The Swing Dance Company this year.

More Than Just a Live Band Event

The Valentine Swinging Ball is more than just a live band event though. Our team save their creative best for these occasions, with memorable decorations, themed treats and fun surprises.

Guests are invited to dress up or dress retro for the Valentines theme. Our team will be busy dressing the venue especially for the night, so bring your red roses and plenty of love!

A spacious dance floor, ample seating and tables will be awaiting you in the main hall. Attendees are encouraged to use the inexpensive, fully licensed in-house bar operated by our own friendly dancers. The evening is perfect whether you prefer to dance non-stop or just kick back, socialise and enjoy the live music. Being just a few minutes away from the A27/M27 near the Eastern Road in Portsmouth, the venue is easy to reach from far and wide. We always attract dancers from all over the South! The venue has a large car park.

Swinging DJs support the band and teachers will be giving a warm-up lesson to start the evening off, suitable for all levels. The DJ team will play a great mix of swing, rock’n’roll and rhythm and blues tracks to keep the dance floor busy.
