Expired Miss Amy Baker at Swingeasy Chichester

SWINGEASY  CHICHESTER runs every Monday evening, but we’re running a special night with swing singer Miss Amy Baker on 3rd June. We are delighted to welcome Miss Amy Baker back after a wonderful evening at Chichester Swingeasy last October. Whilst Swingeasy is normally “pay-on-the-door” we recommend booking in advance for this one-off.

Miss Amy Baker is a talented, professional Jazz and Swing singer who is going places fast! Recognised by the Jive Aces, she has toured with them throughout Europe with sung at their album launch at Ronnie Scott’s.

In recent years she has appeared at some amazing events and locations including Glastonbury Festival, The Edinburg Fringe, The Tower of London, Montreux Jazz Festival, Goodwood Revival, The Miami Boat Show, Cannes Yachting Festival and Southsea Bandstand!

As a Portsmouth based singer, we are exceptionally that such a talented performer is based on our doorstep and we can’t wait for June!

Amy will be performing a playlist packed with swinging tunes for dancers (using backing tracks) between and after the Swingeasy lessons, so the format for the evening will be as follows;

7.45pm – Doors open

8-8.30pm Beginners Class

8.30-9pm Miss Amy Baker

9-9.30pm Intermediate / Advanced Class

9.45-10.15pm Miss Amy Baker

10.30pm Event closes

The Swing Dance Company DJ will be playing music for dancing whenever Miss Amy Baker and the classes are not running.

Swingeasy is a weekly drop-in evening with two classes, plenty of freestyle and a DJ to play your favourite tunes. It is the perfect opportunity for you to keep in the swing of things in a fun and friendly environment. We welcome everybody to drop-in, whether you are new to dancing, have participated in our courses or have danced with other groups, we would love to see you.

WHAT HAPPENS? At the start of each evening there is a beginners SwingJive class, which you can join in whatever your level. Our DJ then plays your favourite tunes for freestyle practice, before a more challenging class begins at 9pm. After that you can dance the night away until the last rack finishes at 10.30pm! Our friendly coaches will be on hand too, in case you need help with any moves, or just fancy a dance!

WHO CAN COME? All are welcome. No dance experience required for SwingEasy although some regulars have built up many years of experience!

WHERE? The Fishbourne Centre is a lovely venue combining a large dance floor with an intimate atmosphere. It is a social layout that has proven popular over many years. The centre has a fully licenced bar that adds to the atmosphere.

FLEXIBLE BOOKS OF 10 TICKETS – When purchasing our £70 books of 10 ticket vouchers, a physical book of vouchers will be available for collection on your next visit to Swingeasy. These vouchers are flexible and can be used as and when required up to the expiry date, normally around 6 months ahead. We’re happy to accept payments via our online system, but the e-tickets (and any limitations on dates specified) can be disregarded.
