Expired 1940s Theme Dance feat. Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band

The Swing Dance Company host The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band at their 1940s Swinging Ball, taking place on the weekend before the anniversary of VE Day. A versatile and hard-working band, we are excited to welcome The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band to perform for The Swing Dance Company for the first time!

This 1940s Themed Ball is open to all, whether you want to spend all night dancing or prefer to kick back and watch the show. Our celebrated Swinging Balls have been held at Admiral Lord Nelson School for 14 years and they have built a splendid reputation, attracting the UK and Europe’s finest jive and swing bands along with huge attendances.

Our Swinging Balls are more than just a live band event though. Guests are invited to dress appropriately for the 1940s theme – but keep it light-hearted, this is a theme evening and not a re-enactment! Our team will be busy dressing the venue especially for the night!

The band will be supported by swinging DJs and a warm-up lesson. The DJ team will play a great mix of swing, rock’n’roll and rhythm and blues music. The evening will be kick started with a warm-up class, suitable for all levels. Don’t miss out on this fantastic night of live entertainment, music and dancing, book your tickets now!

The venue offers a spacious dance floor, ample seating and tables plus an inexpensive fully licensed in-house bar operated by our own friendly dancers. Being just a few minutes away from the A27/M27 near the Eastern Road in Portsmouth, the venue is easy to reach from far and wide – we always attract dancers from all over the South. The venue has a large car park.

Our Swinging Balls have featured some of the finest performers for dancers such as The Regular Joes, The Jive Aces, Mike Sanchez, Si Cranstoun, King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys and The Swing Commanders have all appeared at our Swinging Balls over the years. We’re confident that this evening will bring just as much joy to attendees.
