This is a great opportunity to become a dance teacher as we are growing our team and starting classes in new areas. Take your dancing and teaching to a new level while we train you. You can make a difference in your local area, have fun and earn by training to become a Swing Dance teacher.
Due to our ongoing success there are opportunities to join our team as a trainee dance teacher. Simply click this link to go to our Contact Us page and send us a message to register your interest!
We would also welcome interest from people to join the team for courses at our other venues.
By running our courses we provide a fun and healthy pastime that builds local communities.
As a result of our fun and friendly style, lots of dancers have started dancing. Our beginner level classes lead onto a fantastic series of courses and introduces people to a wonderful swing dance community.
We are looking for potential stars who, due to their passion, are keen to train to become Swing Dance Company dance teachers on a part-time basis. Once trained, our dance teacher will deliver our adult evening SwingJive courses in our fun and friendly style.
Ideally you should have experience providing instruction in any field, be a good dancer or have taken at least some of our courses.
The training plan will improve your dancing, teaching and class management skills.
Depending on skills and experience, successful candidates could start teaching straight away. However, most new team members spend approximately 2 terms developing alongside a lead teacher before taking full responsibility for a course.
Whilst 10 week courses are central to everything we do, other opportunities do come up. These include private bookings at parties, festivals, schools and colleges, individual tuition and helping with our special events.
It takes a very special person to become a Swing Dance Teacher;
– your personality should match our fun, friendly and welcoming ethos
– you should share our interest in dancing, retro music and helping people be happy
– your attitude should be positive, encouraging and full of enthusiasm
– you should have good presence, communicate well, be sociable and personable
– you need to be available on at least 2 weekday evenings per week during term time
– have your own transport
We’re looking to start in other cities, of particular interest are locations such as Bournemouth, Salisbury, Andover, Basingstoke, Winchester, Guildford and Horsham.
Instructors are paid for their time in-class, including through the training stage. The pay ranges from £8/hr to £20/hr + benefits including holiday pay, branded t-shirts and dance shoes for class wear.
Sound equipment, music and lesson plans are provided by us. We also arrange venues, marketing and administration.
Instructors can work in class from 2 to 6 evenings per week. Candidates with a standard-hours day job would find 2 evenings per week optimal. Applications should come from individuals, rather than couples.
