Swinging Dorset Tea Dance
Join us for a Sunday afternoon tea dance at the wonderful Herrison Hall, also known as Charlton Down Village Hall near Dorchester! Complimentary tea and cakes await you at the dance. Please bring your own teacup or mug to reduce waste.
The venue hosts regular dance classes and events, offering a wonderful ambience. It's also nice and airy, so lots of fresh air for this summertime event.
Chance to Dance and Socialise
This laid-back Sunday afternoon treat is an ideal hang-out for new and existing social dancers, as a practice session or a happy welcome back for lapsed dancers.
We'll be playing all the popular tunes from our classes so you can practice all you have learned.
Fun Warm-Up Class
Get into the swing in a fun 30-minute warm-up class led by Nicki (Dorchester classes) to kick-start the event! Everybody will be welcome to join this class regardless of experience.
Swinging DJ
DJ Colin (Poole classes) will be playing out a wonderful selection of jive and swing music, just perfect to keep the dance floor busy all afternoon.
Tea, Coffee and Cake
If you need a rest from all the dancing then you can sit back and enjoy a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake, all included in the ticket price! Catch up with old friends and make new ones too!

Si Cranstoun and His Band Return
The Swing Dance Company first hosted Si Cranstoun and His Band back in 2015, we are delighted that he is returning for his sixth show for us!
Anybody who has taken our online courses should recognise some of Si Cranstoun's songs, as he kindly permitted us to use his songs alongside some of the routines.
Other big-name performers such as Mike Sanchez, The Jive Aces, King Pleasure and The Biscuit Boys and The Regular Joes have graced our stage. We're delighted that Si Cranstoun and His Band were keen to return to The Swing Dance Company this year.
Just 15 minutes north of our previous venue and similar in size and layout, Barton Hall is a dedicated function suite at Horndean Technology College, Horndean, just 5 minutes from the A3. There is ample parking on-site, a welcoming reception area, a huge dance floor and a licenced bar.
Using The Venue's Bar
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable event for everyone, we'll have a fully licensed bar service provided by the venue's fantastic bar staff.
In accordance with licensing regulations and venue policies, please refrain from bringing your own beverages to this event.

Laura B and Her Band are Coming Back!
Having performed at four previous Swing Dance Co Swinging Balls (all 3 were sell-outs), we can look forward to this event with excitement and confidence that Laura B and Her Band will deliver a performance that is perfect for our dancers.
Laura B's powerhouse vocals have made her the UK's foremost authentic Rhythm & Blues vocalist and performer. She is backed by an all-star band of musicians that have previously played for some of the finest acts in the UK such as The Mike Sanchez Band, Blue Harlem and Sugar Ray's Flying Fortress.
Laura B and Her Band have played some amazing events such as London Royal Festival Hall, Twinwood Festival, Vintage at Goodwood Festival as well as numerous festivals across Europe.
